Professor Jin Ho Chang Appointed

As of February 24th, Professor Jin Ho Chang joined us in the Department of Information and Communication Engineering at DGIST.

 

Professor Jin Ho Chang received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electronic engineering from Sogang University, Seoul, Korea, in 2000 and 2002, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA, in 2007. From 2002 to 2003, he was a Research Engineer at the Digital Media Research Laboratory, LG Electronics Inc., Seoul. He was a Post-Doctoral Research Associate with the NIH Resource Center for Medical Ultrasonic Transducer Technology, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA, for two years after receiving his Ph.D. degree. From 2010 to 2020, he worked as an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor at Sogang University. He has served as an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control since 2014, and he was a member of the technical committee of the International Congress on Ultrasonics (ICU) in 2017. Also, he has been a Board Member of the Acoustic Society of Korea since 2015 and the Korean Society for Therapeutic Ultrasound since 2018.

 

His research interests include medical ultrasound imaging and therapeutic systems, combined ultrasound and light imaging and therapy, deep learning algorithms for ultrasound imaging, and biomedical signal and image processing. He has published about 70 international peer-reviewed papers and holds over 50 domestic and international registered patents. Also, he has transferred a number of technology for commercialization.
