As of February 16th 2021, Professor Kyong Hwan Jin will join us in the Department of Information and Communication Engineering at DGIST.

Professor Kyong Hwan Jin received the B.S and Ph.D degrees in Bio and Brain Engineering from KAIST, Daejeon, South Korea, in 2008 and 2015, respectively. From 2015 to 2016, he was a researcher at KAIST. From 2016 to 2019, he was a postdoctoral scholar at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Lausanne, Switzerland. From 2019 to 2021, he was a staff engineer at Samsung Research, Seoul, South Korea.

His research interests include image processing with deep neural networks, inverse problems, computational photography, and multi-dimensional/channel signal processing. The main goal of his research is to design powerful algorithms for real image processing to get good image quality. He published 23 peer-reviewed journals including IEEE TIP, IEEE TIT, IEEE TMI, MRM, OE, etc. He is awardee of 2019 SPS (Signal Processing Society) Best Paper Award and scholarship on EPFL Fellows co-funded by Marie Sklodowska-Curie.
