Professor Hongjun Choi Appointed

As of September 1st, 2022, Professor Hongjun Choi will join us in the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at DGIST.

Professor Hongjun Choi received his PhD degree in Computer Science at Purdue University in 2022. Before joining Purdue he received an M.S. and a B.S. from Pohang University of Science and Technology (Postech) (advised by professor Jong Kim and professor emeritus SungJe Hong) and Kyungbook National University (KNU). He also worked as a staff software engineer in Korea Software Solutions Lab (KSSL) and Ubiquitous Computing Lab (UCL) at IBM.

His research interest lies in broadly software and systems security, focusing on autonomous cyber-physical systems security. He has recently proposed holistic solutions to various security problems in CPS, including physical attack detection, sensor attack recovery, new types of vulnerability, and after-attack investigation (CPS forensics). His work has appeared in multiple top-tier security, software engineering, and AI conferences such as CCS, NDSS, FSE, and ECCV. He was selected as a CPS Rising Star 2022 sponsored by NSF.
