Computer science and information technology have transformed human activities and societal infrastructures. They will continue to be an essential part of our daily living, and change the world for the better. The Information and Communication (ICE) Department is very young, but we are aiming at becoming the world-class research-oriented department.

In detail, we choose three major research areas, (1) Cyber Physical Systems (CPS), (2) Bio-medical Systems, and (3) Smart Connected Systems, and pursue academic excellence in those areas. We not only try to develop core technologies leading to a major breakthrough in the IT area, through interdisciplinary research within the various fields of our department, but also to do revolutionary, innovative research that might change the world, through multidisciplinary research with other departments of DGIST such as robotics, energy, new material, neuroscience, and new biology.

Through these efforts, we believe that we can be recognized nationally as well as internationally in a near future.
